Stories
From Here
We’re inviting Penrith locals to take part in 'Stories From Here'— a free creative workshop program where you’ll learn how to turn any local story into a mini documentary.
Do you have a story to tell about a local hero? Your neighbourhood community? Or someone doing great things in your suburb?
You’ll be supported by local filmmakers and mentors who will guide you through planning, filming and shaping your story.
We’ll explore how to structure a short-form documentary, then show you techniques for filming interviews and capturing b-roll 'overlay'. You can use your phone or a digital camera, we’ll help you make a masterpiece!
No experience is needed, just curiosity, commitment and a passion for telling positive stories about your community.
what's involved?
Four small-size workshops where you’ll be guided by local filmmakers and mentors to create a story that will be shared with the community in a public screening, QR code trail, or digital story map of the suburb. You decide!
