Stories
From Here
Do you have a story to tell about your neighbourhood, your community, or someone doing great things in your suburb? We’re inviting Penrith locals to take part in 'Stories From Here'— a free creative workshop program where you’ll learn how to turn your local story into a mini documentary.
No experience needed — just curiosity, commitment, and a passion for your community.
You’ll be supported by local filmmakers and mentors who will guide you through planning, filming and shaping your story.
We’ll explore everything from story structure and interview techniques to b-roll 'overlay' and editing tips. You can use your phone or a simple camera — we’ll help you make it shine!
what's involved?
A series of small workshops where you’ll be guided by local filmmakers and mentors, creating a story that will be shared with the community in a public screening, QR code trail, or digital story map of the suburb. You decide!
