--- title: PYT 'Stage to Screen' Video Series description: Made in the West is working with PYT Fairfield on a new project called Stage to Screen. This video series documents the writing development process as a young artist adapts their fringe festival show into a web series pilot script. image: https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/hubfs/PYT%20Fairfield%20building.jpg --- [![](https://24105364.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/24105364/Made%20in%20the%20West%20BOLD%20Logo%20Black.png)](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/home) - [Home](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/home) - [Our Story](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/about-made-in-the-west) - Services - [Content Production](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-services/content-production) - [Content Provision](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-services/content-provision) - [Cultural Development](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-services/cultural-development) - [Consultation](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-services/consultation) - Events - [#WesternSydneyFilm Online Networking Event](https://events.humanitix.com/westernsydneyfilm-online-networking-event-september-2026) - [Made in the West Film Festival](https://www.madeinthewest.com.au/news) - [Projects](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/latest-projects-by-made-in-the-west-creative) - [Our River: From Nawi to Now](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-river-from-nawi-to-now) - [Western Sydney Aerial Footage Library](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/western-sydney-aerial-footage-made-in-the-west) - [Stories From Here: Penrith Workshops](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/stories-from-here) - [Case Study: Catalyst West Films](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/case-study-western-creative) - [Articles](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/articles) - Work With Us - [Western Sydney Crew](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/film-crew-western-sydney-work-with-us) [contact us](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/contact-us) Search **the website** # Stage to Screen: **Collaborating with PYT Fairfield** ![](//cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/24105364/raw_assets/public/@marketplace/if_else_agency/Aesthetics/assets/images/icons/arrow-down.svg) ![](https://24105364.fs1.hubspotusercontent-ap1.net/hubfs/24105364/PYT%20Fairfield%20building.jpg) ## Share this **post** We’re proud to announce a new creative partnership that brings together theatre and screen industries in Western Sydney, and opens up new pathways for local artists. Stage to Screen is a collaboration between *Made in the West Creative* and [PYT Fairfield](https://pyt.com.au/) that celebrates their inclusion in *The Sydney Fringe*, and is proudly supported by a [Creative Industries – Connectivity Grant from Create NSW](https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-and-agencies/create-nsw). Together, we’re launching a pilot project to support one bold, original Fringe theatre work through its evolution into a screen-ready concept — and sharing the whole journey as a practical resource for other creatives. This project is more than a single adaptation. It’s the beginning of a local pipeline from Fringe to screen — where Western Sydney storytellers can build industry-connected experience, develop original IP, and take their creative work to new platforms and audiences. ![PYT Fairfield building](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/PYT%20Fairfield%20building.jpg?width=1280&height=960&name=PYT%20Fairfield%20building.jpg) ## Why Stage to Screen? Many of today’s most talked-about screen projects began their life on stage — think *Fleabag* and the success of *Baby Reindeer*. Fringe theatre has long been a launchpad for powerful personal stories and distinctive new voices. But for most independent artists, the leap from stage to screen is uncharted territory. *Stage to Screen* exists to bridge that gap. Here in Western Sydney, we’re seeing a surge in new voices across both performing arts and film. By collaborating across sectors and offering practical, real-world development support, we’re creating space for more stories to grow and more artists to thrive. ## How It Works **PYT Fairfield** will lead the creative development process, mentoring the selected artist through the adaptation, from story structure and character development to writing for the screen. **Made in the West Creative** will produce a behind-the-scenes mini docu-series following the project, offering a rare look at the adaptation process and the real tools it takes to make the leap. From early concepts to final pitch materials, we’ll document every step to build a resource that’s genuinely useful for emerging theatre and screen creatives. The selected Fringe show will be announced soon — and we can’t wait to share more about the artist, their work, and what comes next. ![PYT Fringe show 1 2](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/PYT%20Fringe%20show%201%202.jpg?width=1280&height=960&name=PYT%20Fringe%20show%201%202.jpg) ## Investing in Local Talent As a social enterprise, *Made in the West Creative* is committed to growing the creative economy in Western Sydney. That means working with local artists, creating paid opportunities, and building platforms where original stories can shine. We specialise in producing short-form documentary and screen content that reflects the diversity, energy and identity of our region. Through *Stage to Screen*, we’re using our production expertise to support the development of new IP, and to build creative bridges between artists and industries. We believe projects like this not only showcase our region’s talent, they also create lasting impact by strengthening the professional capacity of local artists, crew, and storytellers. ![PYT Fringe show 3](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/PYT%20Fringe%20show%203.jpg?width=1280&height=960&name=PYT%20Fringe%20show%203.jpg) ## What’s Next? Over the coming months, we’ll be capturing the adaptation journey and sharing it as a free online resource for creatives working across stage and screen. If you’re an artist, cultural organisation, council or creative partner interested in collaborating with us on future projects like this, we’d love to hear from you. We’re always looking to support stories that come from here — and belong on screen. Reach out to us at [info@madeinthewest.com.au](mailto:info@madeinthewest.com.au) or you can [read all about our content production services here](https://madeinthewestcreative.com.au/our-services/content-production). Stay tuned as we introduce the artist and get this project underway — Western Sydney’s stories are just getting started!     ![Misty McPhail](https://24105364.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/24105364/MistyMcPhail_headshot_square.png) [**Misty McPhail** Misty McPhail is a producer, strategist and community arts leader with over 15 years’ experience driving creative projects across Western Sydney.
