Misty McPhail is an executive producer at Made in the West CREATIVE and the general manager of Made in the West Film Festival, a grassroots festival that celebrates and showcases Western Sydney filmmakers on screen. She is an experienced event producer, emcee, teacher and team leader, working on various festivals, workshops and events including running the volunteer team at Sydney Writers’ Festival and producing the annual awards night and hybrid digital event for the Australian Production Design Guild. She was recently awarded a PhD for her research on digital festival design and is passionate about creating more opportunities for independent artists to succeed through innovative creative practice.
